Tony has a lot (probably too much) faith in himself?
Dictionary.com:
Faith: belief that is not based on proof.
Blair thinks faith is there to convince you that whatever decision you make, it’s right:
I think this was Tony’s problem – some of the infallibility talk rubbed off on him.
It’s a Foundation – does this mean he’s a fundamentalist?
Holy shit, I just had a vision of the fucker as a skeletal eighty year old prancing around a rubble-strewen Middle East making earnest speeches about Sunni-Shia reconciliation…
Bliar is one of the least-Christian persons in existence – for all his lies and all the murders he will burn in Hell. Setting up bogus foundations to glorify his sunken name will not help. No self-respecting Christians would associate with him. It was a monumental mistake for the RCC to trump up his conversion – they will come to regret it.
I always thought it was also arguably rather un-Christian to look forward with satisfaction to the prospect of people burning in Hell. But then IANAT.
PS how many “murders” has Blair committed, exactly?
William — I think it does!
Al Quaeda means ‘the foundation’. Makes me wonder how the name of Tony’s organisation will be translated into Arabic.
‘What faith can do is not tell you what is right but give you the strength to do it.’
I don’t think that Blair is a ‘bad’ guy, he reminds me a lot of Bush. They both hate uncertainty and use what they call ‘faith’ to fill in the blanks.

On the one hand, I’m inclined to just respond: “no, both really are ‘bad’ guys.” On the other, I think maybe the appelation ‘bad’ isn’t very useful: both are deluded megalomaniacs who favour military force over thinking and are willing to use fear in the cause of creeping totalitarianism. Whether they’re also consciously evil seems a little beside the point.
He should have added, “…anyway”.
I heard Blair talking about this on the world service. An odd thing about his vocal performance was his apparent adoption of the high rising terminal. Maybe he’s adopted it to parade his, um, humility (as an individual before God, or as an adherent of a specific religion hoping to be heard by the competition)?
Or maybe he just wants to seek asylum in Australia….well, we’re not having him!
Just noted the sign on the lectern. Did the space bar break on his typewriter, or is it just a huge, masturbatory, multiply-climaxing affectation?
Dave! Thank you for the technical name for Neighbours-speak, of which I was unaware. It’s a style of speech that people often grumble about, although I find it slightly charming in its insistent modesty.
The lack of spaces in TonyBlairFaithFoundation is quite Web 2.0, and also graphically imitates the smashing-together of disparate religions until you can’t insert a cigarette paper between them, a state of affairs which once accomplished will usher in the Second Coming?
When you googleimage “tonyblairfaithfoundation” the first result returned is one of Steven Poole. I find this strangely disturbing; an unwanted connection. For a moment I thought you had turned.
I have to confess that this is one (possibly the first) of Blair’s ideas that have made me smile.
He’s like an aging bachelor uncle – harmless and well meaning.
A lot of the non-religious messages (e.g. tolerance) are a good thing™. And the brand of religion he favours isn’t exactly know for it’s dangerous fanaticism.
But hey, just my 2c.
Tom
…you know, if you don’t count the crusades and the Inquisition and the St. Bartholomew’s Day massacre, Opus Dei, Northern Ireland and a few other things…
*Obviously* excepting those small incidents…

Why doesn’t have spaces? Shouldn’t it have spaces? Why does Tony Blair have to miss the spaces out? We already know he’s an idiot without him having to miss the spaces out.
Shouldn’t it have spaces?
That’s just a logo and such things are allowed on logos. On the outfit’s own website the name is nicely spelled out, with word-spaces. Interesting that the contact address is a postbox in London W2 — as if this is being run from a back bedroom in the Blair residence.

I think I broke it – can you fix it?
I seem to remember a line or two in the gospels along the lines of: A tree shall be known by its fruit. Also, false prophets who come in sheep’s clothing but underneath are ravenous wolves.
Still, Tony’s never lied about anything else.
